Victorinox Chefs Knife  
This is the best Chefs knife that I have ever owned. It sharp to the point that you need to be very careful not to cut your self without even knowing that you have done so. Dont ask how I know but I still have 10 fingers. Not only is this a sharp knife but it holds an edge for a very long time. Unlike more expensive knives I have owned. It makes short work of chopping and dicing. I liked this knife so well that I purchased one as a giftand will probably buy more. : 2010-09-18 10:25:56

A bargain a good first knife  
Great price good knife good feel in the hand. Sufficiently sharp when new though it became noticeably duller fairly quickly. We just moved into our own place a month ago and we bought this knife to be our first as we learn basic cooking. Its serving us well as a first knife and I dont regret the purchase but if we could have afforded something better a better knife probably would have been worth it. : 2010-09-18 10:25:56

a good knife  
I read all the comments by other purchasers and decided that this is the knife for me. It is a bit larger than I anticipated but really works well. Although I am not a fancy cook every kitchen needs one reliable knife and this fits the bill. If you like a smaller knife then maybe this is not the size for you but it is nonetheless a very good performing all around knife. : 2010-09-15 21:42:02

Great for the price  
This knife has become my go to knife in the kitchen. I own quite a few of the fancier more expensive knives but I always reach for this one. Why? Its light weight sharp [and holds its sharpness better than the expensive ones] and does the job well. Had I known about this knife sooner I most definately would have saved the money and purchased this brand only. Theres a reason why Cooks Illustrated likes it so much. If you go into a Sur la Table you can cut with it to feel it-they use them a lot in their classes due to their durability and price point. : 2010-09-15 21:42:02

My "Go-To" Knife  
This knife is very versatile and I use it for the majority of my culinary cutting and slicing needs. Good weight well balanced non-slip composite grip and keeps a nice edge. I always hand-wash it and advise any users to do the same (basic advice for all high-end knives).

Overall a great standard Chefs knife at a very reasonable price! I highly recommend this to anyone. : 2010-09-15 21:42:02

Liked it so much I bought the paring knife set  
A friend on a cooking forum recommended this knife to me. I could not be more glad she did! I highly recommend this knife...

The knife arrived razor sharp. In fact it cut a very large sweet onion like it was gliding through butter. Tomato? No problem. Its been six months and so far I havent noticed much difference in the sharpness.

The blade is big perfect arc for "rocking". Its lightweight so my hands dont get so tired when doing a large chop job. Ive been so used to the carbon steel knives that I was a little taken aback when I took it out of its package and saw the mirror like finish. But I cant argue that it works amazingly well and the finish is still as shiny as the first day.

I wasnt sure if I should get the rosewood or the composite handle. I chose the composite. Another happy choice. I quite often chop large quantities of items and have to wash the knife in between. My hands do NOT slip on this handle when wet. I feel just a : 2010-09-15 21:42:02
